Registered Dietitian
 |
Why is it that we must be diagnosed with diabetes, cardiovascular disease, or some other ailment before we can be referred to a Registered Dietitian for guidance? Target Metabolism feels this approach is a bit “backwards”. Instead, we bring the Registered Dietitian to YOU. You review all your testing results in a face-to-face consultation with our Dietitian and you will receive direction as to the approach that works best for you.
Throughout the course of the program you will have open access and may contact the Dietitian in private via email; or you may chat with her and other members through our online discussion forum! By having access to our medical professionals at all times, you can be certain that you are always receiving credible information…not simply a representative that wants to sell you their weight loss system. In fact, not only do you work with a Registered Dietitian, but our Dietitians carry additional certification with the American Dietetic Association it Adult Weight Management.

But I’m so busy…how can I possibly eat right?
|
 |
Please know our Registered Dietitian makes recommendations based on YOU and YOUR lifestyle. Do you prefer organics? Great! She will help you learn about that. Are you incredibly busy with work and family and find you hit the drive-thru’s frequently? We understand. Our Registered Dietitian will help you learn which choices our best based upon your lifestyle!
Our Dietitians are committed to being realistic. Yes, they know what ideal eating habits are…and yes, they will help you achieve those over time…but they also understand that life is busy, and small changes are good changes!

The difference between a Dietitian and a Nutritionist
The distinction is important! A nutritionist can be just about anyone... in fact, anyone with a health-related background can call himself or herself a nutritionist.
A Registered Dietitian (RD), on the other hand, is a graduate of an accredited undergraduate dietetics program, has completed an industry-related internship, and has successfully passed the national registration exam. An RD also maintains his or her credentials with continuing education.
In fact, our Registered Dietitians hold additional credentials in Adult Weight Management through the American Dietetic Association!

Target Metabolism and Meal Plans
We are often asked, “Are meal plans available?” Yes, meal plans are available to our members at no extra charge. However, if you choose these, we will encourage you to wean from them over time. Following a meal plan is not true success. Just as purchasing a meal-delivery system is not true success. Rather, true success is being able to walk into any restaurant or any grocery store ready to make your own decisions . . . based on what YOUR body needs. Not your friend’s body, not someone your same age, weight, and height…but YOUR body. That is what our Registered Dietitian is here to do – to help you learn options in those restaurants and grocery stores that are appropriate for YOUR body.
